The Birthing of "Shining Our Light"

The conception of the Shining Our Light program started during the 2019 conference. As several ministers were discussing how we could create more "Love in Action," the idea began to formulate to create a program to engage and support Florida ADL ministers.

ADL embraces a diverse group of individuals from many religious and ethnic backgrounds, each with their own set of unique ways of expressing Divine Love with their mani-faceted talents. Yet, few know what skills, goals and current ways each is serving humanity.

Two main goals were adopted, with a Three Phase plan to implement the goals. As interest grew, a name was adopted and "Shining Our Light" (S.O.L.) began to manifest into reality!

All Florida Ministers and Ministerial Students are invited to join the "Sharing Our Light" committee!

SHINING OUR LIGHT: Main Goals

To offer opportunities for Florida ADL Ministers and Students to meet on a regular basis in order to build community and to discover each others talents and goals.

To brainstorm and implement ways to blend and offer our unique talents and skills to Shine Our Light to the world as a collaborative group.

To expand knowledge of ADL philosophy, including the roots from the Brotherhood of Light and teachings from the ADL Handbooks.

PHASE ONE

The first step was to invite Florida Ministers and Students to be part of the newly created "Shining Our Light" committee.

The first 6 months, all Florida Ministers and Students were invited to meet on Zoom for 90-minute conversations to explore ways to implement the S.O.L. main goals.

PHASE TWO

Creating and developing ACTION PLANS on how to Share Our Lights throughout the world.

PHASE THREE

Implementing the ACTION PLANS as they develop.

Even with the covid interruptions, several ideas have been implemented, with more to come!
